HISTORY

Aku is a pale blue world in the constellation of Monoceros. Centuries ago Ibr, the chief scientist of Aku, came up with a plan to artificially extend the life-energies of the citizens of Aku. The inhabitants of Aku would be placed in a state resembling sleep and suspended animation in special underground chambers while thought-images projected from their minds would carry on their lives above in a seemingly advanced super-scientific civilization. When the thought-energies of two of the Akuans' became entangled electronically it caused the system to go haywire and only with the help of Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) things were restured to normal, with two exeptions. The two Akuans that threw off the system had fallen in love and didn't want to ruturn to their sleeplike state. Instead they became the only real people walking the surface of Aku.
