HISTORY

Eddore was the Green Lantern of Tront, a world of gaseous life forms. He was a friend of Abin Sur, and met Abin's successor, Hal Jordan of Earth, during the war against Krona and Nekron.

Eddore participated in many adventures with the Corps. He served as part of the invasion of Qward to destroy the Anti-Green Lantern Corps. Eddore was part of a "psychodrama" designed to test Hal Jordan's capabilities as a Green Lantern.

During the so-called Crisis on Infinite Earths, Eddore had been assigned by the Guardians to work with Salakk of Slyggia, in neighboring Sector 1418. In the destruction caused by the universal crisis, Eddore was killed.

Eddore was memorialized in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa.

BLACK LANTERN: EDDORE

During the event known as the Blackest Night, black rings desecrated the Crypts. The ring placed itself admidst his remains, downloaded his memories and created a duplicate of his body that rose from the grave as a member of the Black Lantern Corps.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

As a Green Lantern, Eddore possessed a power ring and power battery.

GLCWP NOTE

Like Arisia, Eddore was named after a planet in E.E. "Doc" Smith's LENSMEN series of novels. The Eddorians were rather amorphous amoeboids, but unlike the kindly Green Lantern Eddore of Tront, "Doc" Smith's Eddorians were evil. Thanks to Cubist for the information, I haven't read the books... yet.
