OVERVIEW


Formerly beleived to be the last survivor of the Guardians of the Universe, the race of powerful beings who founded the Green Lantern Corps. Ganthet was the Guardian who grew closest to the mortal Green Lanterns and hence it is fitting that he passed on the final Green Lantern ring to the last Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner after the destruction of the Corps. He later became the head of the new Guardians, when they were reborn by the help of the power of Ion residing within Rayner.

Ganthet left the Guardians along with Sayd to form the Blue Lantern Corps. Following the War of Light and the Blackest Night, Ganthet left the Blue Lantern Corps to wield a power ring as a Green Lantern for Sector 0.

Unbeknownst to anyone except Guy Gardner, Ganthet has entered a yet unexplained deal with Red Lantern Atrocitus. - Green Lantern Corps Vol. 2 #48
