HISTORY


To combat the threat of Oblivion, Kyle Rayner's unconscious mind created a number of Green Lanterns, each representing parts of his mind, and each with their own "history," which led them, and others, to believe they were real.

Created 3.5 billion years ago by the immortal Guardians of the Universe, the Manhunters were a failed attempt to bring order to the stars. After the Manhunters' failed revolt, the Guardians reprogrammed several Manhunter androids and inducted them as members of the newly formed Green Lantern Corps.

Eons ago, the Manhunter android turned Green Lantern designated GL 7177.6 followed a beacon leading to the early 21st Century and Green Lantern Kyle Rayner. The Manhunter was not the only Green Lantern to respond to the beacon. Other ring wielders from different eras and dimensions appeared.
