HISTORY
Horku comes from Ovacron Six in Sector 2, the same homeworld as Green Lantern Hannu. As a matter of honor, their species relies on their brute strength, rather than using weaponry.

Horku took part in the massive assault on Earth. He saw a lone Green Lantern above Mount Rushmore an easy target, and led the charge against Honor Lantern Guy Gardner. Horku’s time as a member of the Sinestro Corps was dramatically cut short by Hannu. The Green Lantern’s fist went right through Horku, and the Sinestro Corps ring sought out another candidate from Space Sector 2, selecting a Reach scarab on Earth. - Green Lantern Vol. 4 #24

After the fall of the Blackest Night, a black ring descended upon Horku's remains, downloaded his memories and reanimated his body as a member of the Black Lantern Corps. - Green Lantern Vol. 4 #46
