HISTORY

Pathavim Seth-Ottarak was a new recruit of Brik and Percival. Despite what he'd read of the newest Green Lantern's future in the Book of Oa, Hal Jordan kept quiet.

He was sent to clean up the planet Garnet, (known as Hellhole to its inhabitants) one of the worst criminal worlds in the cosmos. Announcing his arrival and his intentions, Pathavim was quickly attacked by Garnet's residents. He was protected by the emerald energies of the ring.

The fight soon caught the attention of Trosk, a self appointed anti-lawman. The Green Lantern's ring was no match for Trosk's gold bullets. As the final duty of a Green Lantern, Pathavim Seth-Ottarak commanded his ring to find a worthy replacement.

The ring found an unlikely successor in Jack T. Chance, who proved to be one of the few Green Lanterns capable of surviving on Garnet. - Green Lantern Corps Quarterly #1

Pathavim Seth-Ottarak was memorialized in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa.

GLCWP NOTE

In Green Lantern Corps Quarterly #4, Hal recalls reading of Pathavim in the Book of Oa. He knew it was likely the recruit would be killed and replaced with Jack T. Chance. Was there a reason he didn't speak up?
