HISTORY

Little is known of Green Lantern Rak Arranya. He was a Green Lantern for a hundred years, his final adventure was against the Barookis. Rak Arranya had pursued the star-roving criminals across space when he was struck down by a specific combination of maser blasts from the Barookis' gun cruiser.

He fell to the world of Zilliph, a world on the Cax-Tenik galactic rim. Only one of the Zilliphi, by the name of Taa, had seen the Green Lantern. Before his death, the visitor from another world warned Taa of the impending threat of the Barookis. He passed on the oath and the legacy of the Green Lantern. Taa became Rak Arranya's successor. - Green Lantern Annual Vol. 3 #5

Rak Arranya was memorialized in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa.

How this story fits in to the rest of the GL Mythos, you be the judge.
