HISTORY
A political prisoner on his homeworld of Z'nang, Renmant Nod, the man who would become Green Lantern stood for freedom, dignity, and justice. Nod had spoken out against the tyranny of Z'nang's ruling political party, the H'od, and remained alive at the whim of Korhalem, leader of the H'od. Upon the death of Green Lantern Meeno Monak of Arden, Remnant Nod was sought out the by the ring and took on the power of Green Lantern. Nod would go on to use the ring to rally support in the hope of restoring the rightful government of Z’nang, actions surprisingly unopposed by the Guardians of the Universe.
When the Green Lantern Corps was reborn following Hal Jordan's return and the defeat of Parallax, Remnant Nod once again wore the power ring. A veteran of the Sinestro Corps War, Remnant Nod lost his life while escorting Sinestro to Korugar for execution. Remnant Nod was the first Green Lantern to be slain by a Red Lantern, as he was torn apart by Atrocitus. Presumably, Remnant Nod was memorialized in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa. -Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns #1
