HISTORY


The Green Lantern of Space Sector 5134 in an alternate universe containing Earth-D, Tagin Sur was charged by the Guardians of the Universe to investigate an anomaly in his sector. An antimatter surge threatened to destroy all existence in what was known as the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Entering the Earth's atmosphere, his sensors detected antimatter shadows pursuing a jet fighter. Tagin Sur was able to destroy at least three of the shadows before they turned on his starcraft. Mortally wounded, Sur's starcraft crashed to Earth.

The pilot of the jet fighter was Captain José Hernandez of the Brazilian Air Force. He was chosen by Tagin Sur as a worthy successor to the title of Green Lantern. - Legends of the DCU: Crisis on Infinite Earths #1
