OVERVIEW
The planet Venus is 0.72 AU from the sun, with a sidereal revolution of 225 days and a rotation period ("day") of 243 days. Its atmosphere produces a runaway greenhouse effect, making Venus the hottest planet in the Solar system. The planet is named for the Roman godess of love, Venus.
HISTORY
Though one of the least likely planets to support life, some life forms have been known to live on Venus, including a blue skinned humanoid race. As of this writing, it is not known if these lifeforms were indiginous or had temporarily colonized the planet.
In the 30th / 31st Century, humans were known to be living on Venus.
