HISTORY

From the Book of Oa:

"Springing from the volcanic fields of Maag, Volk is living magma inside a shell of organic rock. Because of the massive heat he generates, Volk must place a protective shield around himself while working with other lanterns. The bounty hunter known as the Igneous Man hails from Volk's sector."

Years ago, Volk joined fellow Green Lanterns Talmadge of Sector 2471 and Zghithii of Sector 3599 to assist Green Lantern Xax of Xaos defend his homeworldof Xaos from the Spider Guild. - Green Lantern Vol. 2 #190

Volk was given back his power ring sometime after the defeat of Parallax and the expansion of the Green Lantern Corps to 7200 strong. Volk's current activities are not yet known, but it is assumed he survived the Sinestro Corps War.
