HISTORY

She was abused by her father as a child, but then she was rescued by Richard. However, Richard also used her for sex, not only for himself, but for others. Eventually, when she began to know too much about some of her 'clients', Richard decided to kill her, but she was able to overcome him. She was persuaded by Green Arrow to apply for a job at the Star City youth center; when she arrived she was surprised to note that Arrow was also working there, in his civilian guise of Oliver Queen. She is now living with Oliver Queen in the house he 'inherited' from Stanley Dover, where she soon showed signs of being attracted both to the idea of becoming a hero and to Oliver's son Connor Hawke.

Following injuries sustained while saving Green Arrow from a group of thugs, Mia learned that she is H.I.V. positive, a legacy from her years on the street. She has recently taken up fighting crime as the new Speedy, both alongside Green Arrow and with other young heroes in the Teen Titans.
