HISTORY

The grandson of the famous TV detective Roy Raymond, Roy Jr. made a name for himself as the host of the tv show "Roy Raymond Jr: The Manstalker". When he ran into Robin III while on one of his cases he appeared as an ambitious but criminally-inept detective. Whether or not it was this encounter that made him take the trade more serious is not known, but he would eventually end up on the small list of detectives that Batman admires, even if he felt that Roy was wasting his talents on daytime television. - Robin Vol. 2 #38- #39

Following his death Batman had left instructions for Alfred to contact Roy Raymond Jr. and invite him to join the Outsiders as the Owlman, using equipment created for that specific purpose by Batman himself.

Roy accepted the offer and has since worked alongside the Outsiders and fought villains such as Deathstroke, Ra's al Ghul and Vandal Savage. - Batman and the Outsiders Special #1
