Synopsis: - Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen are in Senegal, pursuing a lead on the League of Assassins, whom Lois believes may well have been responsible for a recent attempt on Superman's life. Meanwhile in Metropolis, Superman rescues a number of people from a tower block which seems to want to crash into the bay; perhaps because the magicienne Encantadora is emotionally disturbed inside. The reason for this is unclear, however, as when Superman moves inside the block to speak to her, she disappears. His only lead is Talia, who, for some reason, is hiding in 'dora's closet. Elsewhere, Encantadora's brother Victor is playing console games with some of the League of Assassins, and a woman seduces a S.T.A.R. Labs employee who is studying the 'kryptonite' which infected Superman recently.
- Lois and Jimmy run into the League of Assassins, as Superman and Talia discuss the events which drove a wedge in her relationship with her father and Superman's with 'the detective' (Talia's beloved, the Batman). Ra's al Ghul himself, meanwhile, reminds Encantadora that she is very much in his power, since he holds her brother's life in the palm of his hands, assuring her that the price of his freedom is very high. As Lois manages to force the assassins to stop trying to kill her, Superman and Talia come upon Ra's al Ghul's current headquarters, and the site of a Lazarus Pit: a ship flying above the earth, connected to the planet by magical strands of Encantadora's making.
