OVERVIEW
Having a Human father and Atlantean mother means that Aquaman does not seem to fit in anywhere.
HISTORY
His mother (Atlanna) was the queen of atlantis and his father (Tom Curry) was a lighthouse keeper. After Arthur was born, his father tried to keep him away from the water but eventually he discovered his atlantean powers. Stephen Shin taught Arthur how to use his newfound powers but, on Arthur refusing to show him where Atlantis was, he tried to kill him.
When Darkseid led his attack on Earth, his forces also spread to Atlantis. Arthur went to the surface and joined up with Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Wonder Woman, and later Cyborg. Together, the heroes defeated the Apokolips invasion. Arthur was later honored in Washington, D.C. for his service among the heroes, who would eventually become the Justice League. Because Arthur is half-Human half-Atlantean, Atlantis treated him badly even though he was rightfully king. Sick of being treated badly, Arthur and Mera decided to start a new life on the surface. Aquaman's relationship with the public isn't the best, though, as they see him as a wannabe superhero with pathetic powers. Most of the public don't believe that Atlantis is a real place and that Aquaman is imagining it. Arthur does not have a job so gets his money from treasure found from ship wreaks and treasure chests.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Can reach into aquatic life's midbrains and telepathically push them to do what he wants. He normally carries an extendable trident with him. Has some sort of enhanced hearing.
