HISTORY

The Astur was a race of highly advanced beings who lived peacefully on the airless world of Astur. When a passing star started causing gigantic landquakes on the planet, they looked to their great scientist-leader, Harun, to save them. He built a space vessel so that they could flee the planet before it was destroyed. Placing the Astur race in suspended animation, while robot servants looked for a suitable airless planet they could inhabit.

After around 1,000 years they found Earth and sent out huge tops intended to draw away the atmosphere making the planet inhabitable to the Astur race. Captain Comet stopped the tops and tracked the radio signal back to Harun's space vessel. Here a mechanism had been tripped and Harun was awoken. Rather than physical combat the two battled each other in a game called Echek, agreeing that the loser would become the other's slave. Captain Comet won the battle, but rather than facing defeat Harum went to awaken the others of his race, only to learn that they had died over a hundred years earlier. Harum's final act would be to plunge himself into outer space. Captain Comet tried saving him, but he had already died in the cold of space.
