HISTORY

Jack Spheer was a ruthless businessman and CEO of BioSpheer Technologies. The company was involved in several immoral and illegal activities, but their biggest breakthrough was the development of the so-called BioMax process – an advanced means of genetic and cellular manipulation via a control plasma. Spheer even used the technology to battle Green Arrow (I) and Black Canary (II) when the two heroes investigated a case of a poisonous food additive manufactured by BioSpheer. During the battle, Spheer fell into a vat of the strange plasma and was presumed dead for years.

Recently he returned as the inhuman creature calling itself BioMax. The abilities of the process now internalised in him, BioMax can control all living tissue – plants, animals and men alike. He has been known to cause growth and mutations in animals in an instant, and even to mind-control humans. BioMax was defeated once again by Green Arrow and the Power Company, but remains at large.
