OVERVIEW

A superhuman freedom fighter/terrorist from the nation of Tarakstan who encountered Batgirl on a number of occasions.

HISTORY

The metahuman leader of the Sakuri Lions, a terrorist/freedom fighter group in the nation of Tarakstan, Black Wind – or Tai'Darshan – gained the ability to summon the winds during his adolescence. He was promptly taken into custody in Moscow and subjected to innumerable tests which ended only when the Soviet Union collapsed. He then returned to his native country to fight for the rights of the ordinary people of the state, whose lives were considered less important than oil. He encountered Batgirl on a number of occasions, culminating when she visited Tarakstan in pursuit of Doctor Death. Black Wind died to prevent the escape of a deadly poison which turns all who encounter it into oil.
