HISTORY

Working covertly, the secret division of the Green Lantern Corps known simply as the Corpse must strip themselves of all symbols and ties to Oa. This also includes the Green Lantern power ring and power battery.

The discs used by agents of the Corpse are ingested and provide five days worth of energy before going inert. Like the power rings, the discs allow protection from the rigors of space travel, communication and the creation and manipulation of energy constructs.

Lanterns Guy Gardner and R'amey Holl joined Von Daggle during a mission to the Dominion. The discs created black costumes for them, without the symbols of the Green Lantern Corps. Unlike the Green Lantern power rings, the discs do not have the tell-tale emerald energy signature, but rather a purplish-glow. - Green Lantern Corps Vol. 2 #7 - 8
