Synopsis: - Batman feels that his night has been a failure - while he is preventing an attempt at rape, members of the Lucky Hand Triad kill two police officers. He pursues them as best he can, but in his determination to catch them he fails to spot the signs that show the Triad pushed another car off the road into the Gotham river. The inhabitants of the car - mother and father Hannah and Jeremy and their small boy Ethan - are unable to escape the car due to the water pressure and keep themselves alive by breathing the air from their spare tIre through a pen.
- Batman catches up with the Triad members and manages to take two of them down fairly quickly. He then suddenly puts together the clues and realizes that someone(s) must be in danger somewhere - his distraction means that the other two Triad people are able to get a shot off at him which is only barely stopped by his kevlar suit. When he finally manages to take care of them, too, he rushes back to the river and finds the car, bringing the people inside to safety. When he apologizes to them for being slow and late, they point out that had he arrived earlier, the water pressure would have stopped him getting into the car. He is finally assured that his efforts tonight have not been totally in vain.

Synopsis: - The Jacobian battles Leelee in a Garden of Eden he created from the knowledge in the Temple of Knowledge. She makes a mockery of all the good things he creates, but he soon discovers that she cannot stand water, the purest of the elements, which is why he so often took refuge on or in the water over the years. Defeating her, he makes his way as far from the Mahmetchik as possible, though he has a vague hunch that the sentry Kobi may well be his relative...
