HISTORY

An interstellar traveler, millions of light years from his homeworld, GH=DRO utilized a transporter belt to cross the gulf between stars. The belt's energy was low by the time he arrived on Earth and GH=DRO sought out a suitable means of recharging it.

His instruments indicated an energy source was nearby. This was a power battery, a device used by members of the Green Lantern Corps to charge their power rings. The power battery had been rendered invisible by its owner, Hal Jordan, Green Lantern of Earth in Space Sector 2814 and left in his car.

GH=DRO had no difficulty seeing the battery and waited by Jordan's car until the Green Lantern returned from a mission in space. When Jordan was about to charge his power ring, GH=DRO leapt up, misjudging the weaker gravity of Earth, and knocked the Green Lantern to the ground. Green Lantern thought he was being attacked and reacted violently. Though it had been a simple misunderstanding, GH=DRO was unable to communicate with the human and, by his race's code, had to respond with violence as well.

The alien was much faster and stronger than the human, so without his power ring, Green Lantern was no match for GH=DRO. Taking the battery, GH=DRO ran off, expecting Green Lantern to follow him. GH=DRO left the battery for the Green Lantern to find it some distance away.

The alien could not use the energy of the battery in its unrefined state and needed the Green Lantern to "refine it" by charging the power ring. Once his ring was recharged, Green Lantern hurled the emerald energy at GH=DRO, believing he was protecting himself from another attack.

GH=DRO's transporter belt fully absorbed the energy and GH=DRO lifted off the ground, returning to his journey across the stars.

Green Lantern remained on Earth, wondering what had transpired. GH=DRO has not been seen since. -Flash #223
