Synopsis: - Whilst arguing with Commissioner Atkins about police overtime, Mayor Dickerson is shot dead by a sniper, and when the city's schools superintendent is also killed later, the entire Major Crimes Unit is called in, as a serial killer appears to be on the loose. Before long, they are diving for cover whilst investigating the scene of Superintendent Purnell's shooting, where coroner Nora Fields is injured, and one of her colleagues killed. Josie Mac spots the sniper's location, and although he is gone before they get there, his identity is soon clear: the Joker. When this news reaches the precinct, Lieutenant Probson persuades Stacy to turn on the bat-signal. Batman arrives, but so does the Joker, shooting at the two of them while Batman herds them to safety.
