OVERVIEW

Summer Day was the sister of Doreen Day, the girlfriend of superhero Ron Raymond. During her time with the Peace Corps in Africa, Doreen was infected by the Hyena curse by a wounded man. Back in America, she would transform into a were-hyena during times of stress and set out to hurt both villains and police men. She was repeatedly opposed by Firestorm. She also infected her lover, Dr. Jivan Shi, with the Hyena curse, turning him into the second Hyena. The Hyena is believed to be dead.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

Summer Day becomes a were-hyena, a creature with sharp claws and teeth, as well as enhanced strength, endurance and agility. Though traditional were-beasts transform during the light of a full moon, the Hyena may transform from human to Hyena and back at will.
