HISTORY

Ifé is the living land, the personification of Earth, and specifically Africa. The gods known as the Orishas are all said to be aspects of Ifé. Shango is therefore the living thunder, while Olorun is the sky, Oshunmare is the rainbow, and Orunmilla is the law. Any connection to other personifications of the Earth, Gaea/Maya, has yet to be revealed.
