HISTORY
To combat the latest version of the Justice League, frequent Superman foe Lex Luthor gathered his own team of villains to form an “Injustice Gang.” Working from Lex Luthor's designs, Doctor Light and Mirror Master created photo-plastic hard light sprites modeled after the JLA. The holographic projections used a holographic construction material called triplex. The coherent light constructs had modified costumes and appearances from that of the real JLA. Each featured a skull in part of the costume design, usually in the place of the particular hero’s symbol. The skull in turn represented the Injustice Gang’s satellite headquarters.
The JLA Revenge Squad materialized Star City and promptly attacked the population in a bid to attract the attention of the true JLA and determine their strengths and weaknesses. Each villain operated a sprite resembling the hero they were most closely identified with; "Superman" was operated by Lex Luthor; "Aquaman" by the Ocean Master; "Batman" by the Joker; "the Flash" by Mirror Master III; "Wonder Woman" by Circe; "the Martian Manhunter" by a mind-controlled J'emm; and "Green Lantern" by Doctor Light. The Injustice Gang monitored the strengths and weaknesses of the heroes they faced before the hardlight sprites were defeated by the heroes. Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner) defeated his hologram doppelganger with a plasma spike. The Revenge Squad was returned to their hard-light storage tanks to download the tactical data they had gathered for the Injustice Gang. The Revenge Squad has not been seen since. JLA #9-10
