HISTORY

Hal Jordan arrived on Stoneworld, searching for Brik of Dryad, a missing Green Lantern. Finding a city, he transmitted his request for help in finding Brik.

Kworri of the Obsidian-Folk was one of the two recruits chosen for the Green Lantern Corps by Brik. He was of a family of warriors, protecting the lava pits for three thousand generations. He offered to take Jordan to the Pumice-People, where Brik had chosen another recruit, Aa, who was unworthy in Kworri's eyes.

Jordan tracked the ring's energy trail into the upper reaches of the atmosphere where it suddenly disappeared. They were soon attacked by the mercenary known as Flicker.

They were brought to Pan-Galactic Placement Services, to be sold as slaves to fight in an interstellar war.

Jordan managed to escape and free Brik, Kworri, and Aa. Flicker's ship escaped into warp, but Aa had captured a prisoner before they left. Scanning the prisoner's mind, they learned Flicker had captured Star Sapphire, Hal Jordan's old love and now enemy. Star Sapphire had been sold to the Teban military as a weapon.

By Jordan's decision they would track Star Sapphire. This caused dissent between the two recruits. Aa did not wish to go on Jordan's personal quest. Kworri, who was Aa's rival, offered his unfalling loyalties in whatever mission they would undertake. Jordan decided he would give the ring to the better of the two .

Kworri and Aa were made temporary Green Lanterns, as Hal Jordan had to answer a distress call from Earth. They tracked a Teban battle-dhow to a war with the Quahooga. There they waited until Jordan's return.

Flicker had planted information leading Jordan to Star Sapphire. The Green Lanterns were at a stalemate with the mercenary. If Jordan did not surrender his ring, Flicker would kill Star Sapphire. Aa used her ring to distract Flicker, and he misfired. Aa's rash action, though it endangered Sapphire, allowed Jordan to fight back against Flicker. With Teban reinforcements approaching, the four Green Lanterns escaped, bringing the imprisoned Star Sapphire with them.

Far from the Tebans, it was time to choose which of the recruits would a new Green Lantern. Loyal and brave Kworri stood ready, but was sent back to Stoneworld by Jordan. Although Kworri had indeed been loyal, Jordan wanted Green Lanterns who could question judgements, and override decisions if neccessary.

It has recently been revealed that Kworri is deceased. The details of his demise have yet to be reported. He is memorialized in the in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa.
