HISTORY

In a universe within the larger Dark Multiverse, the events of the Blackest Night unfolded differently. Possessing the power of the White Lantern, Thaal Sinestro chose not to share that power and thereby lost his universe to death. Sinestro hoarded the power, and his control was not strong enough to prevent Nekron from destroying the Life Entity. The Black Lanterns' powers grew and the heroes were slaughtered, swelling the Black Lantern ranks. Sinestro tried to take his own life, gaining a Black Lantern ring, though the White Lantern ring would not let him die. Defeated, in less than three weeks, the Black Lanterns numbered over nineteen trillion and growing.

Sinestro's white ring led him to Earth and in turn to Dove, the last living woman on the planet. The bounty hunter Lobo was also seeking her, for a yet unknown client. Sinestro's white ring defeated a Black Lantern version of Teen Titans as it momentarily brought them back to life before the Black ring brought them back to death.

The three then traveled to Takron-Galtos where the still-living Mister Miracle, Scott Free, revealed his involvement and plan to restore their universe. Miracle would use Dove to transfer the energy of the Source using his Mother Box and the life energy from Sinestro's White Lantern ring to order to resurrect those under the influence of the Black Lanterns.

A Boom Tube brought them to the Source Wall to begin the plan. It was not long before the Black Lantern found them, led by Darkseid, now the avatar for death. Darkseid's actions proved their undoing as he forced Sinestro to reveal what he knew, that they would restore their universe but never be able to bring back Barda, Miracle's wife. This realization made Mister Miracle betray his allies by killing Dove. Lobo, in turn, killed Miracle for this.

These unforeseen events required a change in plans. Sinestro used the regeneration powers of Lobo, specifically the Czarnian's blood to focus. The resulting energy wave tore through the universe. It eliminated the Black Lanterns and restored life, albeit in Lobo's image. It took only months and they warred across the universe.

Sinestro tried to escape the universe he had failed, seeking tears in space-time to leave this universe. He was trapped by Tempus Fuginaut and remains so as of this writing.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

During his time as a Green Lantern, Sinestro possessed a power ring and power battery. As the founder of his own Corps, Sinestro would later possess a yellow power ring and power battery.

Finally in the Blackest Night Sinestro gained the power of the white ring and then the Black Lantern power ring.
