OVERVIEW
Mahes ("he who is true beside her") was the Egyptian god of war and summer heat, as well as a fearsome warrior. He is a lion god, the son of the cat goddess Bast. Today, he is forgotten and has all but faded away due to lack of worship.
HISTORY
Mahes ("he who is true beside her") was an Egyptian god of war and weather (especially summer heat). His mother is the cat goddess Bast, while his father is said to be either a mortal man or the sun god Ra according to different myths. His symbol is the lion.
Mahes was known as a fearsome and terrible warrior who according to some sources protected the entourage of the sun god Ra as he passed through the underworld on his way towards the dawn.
Today, he is forgotten and has all but faded away due to lack of worship.
