HISTORY

Ages ago, on the planet Marrakon, two opposing warlords Avron Kull and Brae Dhu battled for supremacy. Each was immortal and each possessed what they referred to as "psycho-magnetic energy" which enabled them to mentally enslave others. They used the humans of their world to fight to the death on their behalf and as a century went by the population dwindled as did their power. The planet was ultimately embroiled in a devastating nuclear war. All but the two warlords were killed.

The pair.fell into a petrified hibernation, locked into a showdown for presumably all eternity. One million years later, archaeologists from the planet Thanagar inadvertently discovered and woke the warlords. The two were quick to renew their battles but decided on a temporary truce while they made their way to Thanagar to divide and conscript the natives of that planet.

They might have succeed but for the appearance of Hawkman and Hawkgirl who, after spending time on Earth built up the strength to block the psycho-magnetic energy. The Winged Warriors were able to defeat the warlords and imprison them.
