Synopsis: - Jones and Meade begin an investigation into a case where the killer is a witch, using zombies to help her attack the mob families that wiped out her own relatives. They are assisted by Jim Corrigan, a private detective with a particular interest in the supernatural. Jones and Corrigan head to the morgue, where when confronted by the killer (Strega) and a number of zombies, they reveal that they are actually the Spectre and a martian. They seem to have the upper hand, but Strega suddenly transfers control of the Spectre force to J'onn, who is tempted by the power to revive the dead of Mars. Corrigan is deeply troubled by this, but the Phantom Stranger demonstrates to him that he actually has the power within himself also - otherwise how could he stay 'alive'? As the Spectre, he confronts J'onn on Mars, and removes the memory of the events.
- Now, ten or twleve years later, the new incarnation of the Spectre visits J'onn and returns the memory to him, also using his power to bring some of Mars to Earth, in the Gobi desert. He also reminds J'onn that he is his friend, even though he cannot reveal who he is, or was.
