HISTORY

The son of a Gotham millionaire (and secretly ganglord), Anton Knight learned of his father’s death while travelling in the Orient to learn the martial arts. At the funeral, Anton met his stepsister Natasha, with whom he fell in love. Used to a life in luxury, (but also because Natasha needed expensive medical help due to a rare "light sensitivity" disorder), Anton and Natasha soon used up their inheritence. When they ran out of money, they followed in their father’s footsteps. Clad in a black body suit, Anton used his martial and acrobatic prowess to rob Gotham’s rich as the "Thief of Night", while Natasha operated behind the scenes as " Nocturna". The two had several clashes with the Batman, many of which ended with no clear-cut victor. After being rejected by his beloved Nocturna, Anton changed his style and became the murderous Nightslayer. For a while, the Nightslayer even traded identities with a delirious Batman. After being betrayed one time too many by the more moral Nocturna, Anton vowed to kill her. However, it never came to that as he was put to jail by Catwoman, while Nocturna seemingly died in an accident. When last seen, Night-Slayer was freed from prison in a mass breakout engineered by Ra's al Ghul.

[Nightslayer may not be canonical in the post-Crisis universe.]
