HISTORY

Tad had a bad childhood and grew up to be a sociopath. He thought he was doing right, punishing the evil-doers of Blüdhaven, but his methods went too far, sometimes ending in death, and he just as often preyed upon the innocent as on the guilty. He took on a masked identity, Nite-Wing, and inevitably came into contact with the 'haven's more 'respectable' vigilante, Nightwing, who thought he could train (or tame) the boy. However, when working against Blüdhaven mob boss Blockbuster, Tad killed Cisco Blaine who had come to rescue him. Unknown to Tad, Blaine was actually a federal agent, and the boy was incarcerated in Lockhaven prison for his crime, where Dudley Soames took the boy under his wing, the two of them soon cooking up a successful escape bid.

After their escape, Tad killed Soames (who was about to kill him anyway) and the body was not discovered for some months. When it was, Blockbuster and Tarantula decided to frame him for the death of police chief Redhorn, an attempt which was unsuccessful, although Tad was returned to jail nonetheless for the crimes he did commit.
