HISTORY

Inspired by Superman's ability to draw powers from Earth's yellow sun, the man who would be known as Solarman created a costume comprised of solar energy collector/transformers. This in turn gave him the abilities of flight and super strength. He sought to make a name of himself by besting Superman, but instead found his costume had been overloaded with energy. He was stripped of the malfunctioning costume by the Man of Steel who threw it into space where it exploded.

While Solarman has not been seen since, a woman wearing a similar costume is part of the United Planets Superwatch.
