HISTORY

Speechmaker is a member of the Gray Agents, a team of self-proclaimed law enforcement operatives. This enigmatic figure's species, history, and true name remain shrouded in mystery. Mute, Speechmaker possesses a unique and unsettling ability: a video screen embedded on the back of its head projects the very thoughts of those ensnared in its grasp.[1]

Driven by a desire for notoriety, the Grey Agents embarked on a hunt for the renegade Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. Speechmaker served as their primary tracker, employing its disturbing talent to extract vital information. By placing its suction-cupped hands on a being's head, Speechmaker could sift through their memories and intentions, guiding the Grey Agents across sectors in pursuit of their quarry.[2]However, their ambitions to capture Hal Jordan were ultimately thwarted. Defeated, the Grey Agents, including Speechmaker, vanished and have not been seen since.[3]

POWERS AND WEAPONS

The extent to which Speechmaker's abilities are representative of its unknown species remains a mystery. The view screen itself is likely a technological augmentation, though it exhibits intriguing similarities to the Kryptonian Thought-Beasts. Furthermore, the process of memory sharing appears to inflict considerable pain on those subjected to Speechmaker's touch.
