OVERVIEW

The third woman from Earth to become Star Sapphire, Deborah Camille Darnell was notably one of the founding members of the Secret Society of Super-Villains.

HISTORY

A flight attendant that had a brief affair with Hal Jordan, Darnell came into possession of the violet gem, becoming the third Earth woman to bear the name Star Sapphire.

She joined the original incarnation of the Secret Society of Super-Villains, keeping her name and origin a mystery from her teammates. During that time, as "Debbie" she had a romantic relationship with Adam Blake, the civilian guise of the Society's recurring foe, Captain Comet. She was not heard from for a number of years after. -Secret Society of Super-Villains #1

Star Sapphire later gathered with a number of mystics at Stonehenge. She was killed by the Spectre who claimed she was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of males across the universe. Her Sapphire was found sometime after by a girl named Krystal who briefly became Star Sapphire as well. -Infinite Crisis #6. Green Lantern Vol. 4 #15
