OVERVIEW

A mercenary who has encountered Superboy on a couple of occasions.

HISTORY

Stinger is a mercenary who will scrap with anyone as long as he's paid to do it. The first time he showed up was when he was hired to fight Superboy back when Superboy was still living in Metropolis. The fight had been staged in part by Superboy's future manager Rex Leech so as to get Superboy attention, so Rex could become his publicity manager. Superboy was getting media attention for carrying a locomotive to a museum while flying through the sky as he was attacked by Stinger. Stinger proved to be a worthy foe, for in their brief bout he managed to electrocute him, to have shot him, and to leave Superboy strangled. Supergirl showed up to aid Superboy, and this was when Superboy managed to land one lucky shot on Stinger. Since he wasn't getting paid to fight both of them, he fired some grenades into a nearby bridge which destroyed most of it. He used this diversion to get them off his back and make good his escape, while Superboy and Supergirl saved as many people as they could.

The second time Stinger ran into Superboy was when he was hired to assassinate the Suicide Squad, a team Superboy was also a member of. The squad ended up paying Stinger off to get him to switch sides so that he would aid them to stop the people he was originally hired to protect, the Silicon Dragons. Due to an enormous explosion at the Dragons undersea base, Stinger took off.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

Stinger is an assassin not to be reckoned with. He is a superb athlete and an expert marksman, containing weaponry that contains explosives that can level bridges and such without much trouble. His arsenal also contains cables which can allow him to swing from place to place, and can even strangle a Superboy. He wears a form of body armor which makes him fairly difficult to harm.
