Feature Character(s):
- Superboy (last in the second story in this issue; next in Adventure Comics #226)
Other Character(s):
- Metallo (first appearance; a Kryptonian robot, left as a guard on an asteroid used for secret experiments; presumably destroyed; no relation to the later introduced villain Metallo)
- two astronomers (first appearance for both)
Location(s):
- Space Sector 2814
- an unidentified asteroid (formerly in the vicinity of Krypton; see Comments)
- Earth
- an astronomical observatory (location not specified)
- Smallville
Comment(s):
- The asteroid was likely in the vicinity of Krypton when the planet exploded. As it was not of Krypton itself, it did not become kryptonite but due to its size and gravitation pull collected kryptonite dust in its atmosphere. Then, like the rest of the debris from Krypton turning up on Earth; was somehow pulled through the space warp created by baby Kal-El's rocket. Over the years, the dust would slowly condense and fall on the asteroid.
