HISTORY
A native of Xudar, Tomar-Dar was to have been the next in line to wield the power ring of the Green Lantern Corps, following in the footsteps of Tomar-Re and Tomar-Tu. Unfortunately, this would not come to pass as Hal Jordan of Earth rebelled against the Guardians of the Universe and destroyed the Green Lantern Corps.
Years prior to this, Hal Jordan was one of six members of the Green Lantern Corps to transfer a hostile alien species from an unnamed border world in Space Sector 1522 to the Green Lantern planet form Mogo for safe keeping. They thought that was the perfect solution. They were wrong. - Green Lantern vs. Aliens #1
When an ore freighter, the Signet Dawn, crash-landed on Mogo, former Green Lantern Salakk of Slyggia knew the peril the crew was in. As one of the six Green Lanterns that had transported the aliens to Mogo, Salakk felt it was the duty of the Corps to save them. Tomar-Dar joined Salakk and former Green Lanterns Brik of Dryad, Ash, and M'hdahna in a rescue attempt. They first went to Earth to get assistance from Kyle Rayner, the wielder of the last known power ring.
Searching the wreckage of the ship, they found one crew member, Crowe, who relayed the details of their crash-landing. They were soon under siege by the alien drones. Brik, Ash, and M'hdahna were carried away by the aliens. Rayner tried to save Tomar-Dar but the aliens took the Xudarian as well while Rayner lost his power ring.
As with all victims of the alien species, Tomar-Dar was put in a cocoon in the alien hive. He was intended to be the host body for the alien's young. Salakk was eventually captured leaving Rayner and Crowe to rescue their comrades. With Crowe's sacrifice, Rayner was able to retrieve his power ring and use it to eradicate the alien drones, the alien queen, and the eggs.
The few survivors, Tomar-Dar, M'hdahna, Rayner and one third of the Signet Dawn's crew gathered on Mogo's surface before departing the planet. Tomar-Dar has not been heard from since.
