OVERVIEW
This woman wore a patriotically-colored costume and used a flame-throwing "liberty torch" to fight crime and foreign evil during the 1940s. Her identity is still unknown (but it is possible that she could have been empowered by the Spirit of America, just like Uncle Sam and others.)
HISTORY
In 1777, a young girl was fascinated by the flag that Betsy Ross was sewing. After it was completed, the young girl was given threads of the original flag which she kept in a small gold locket. Hurry home to show her "uncle Sam", she fell ill and died, losing the locket.
In 1941, an elderly patriot was walking near the gravesite of the young girl and finding the locket, opened it and out appeared USA, the Spirit of Old Glory. She was a grown young woman, with the ability to sense when America was threatened (her flag/cape would fall limp and droop).
She made her last recorded public appearance in late 1941.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
USA has the power of flight, superior strength and wields a "Liberty Torch" which she uses as an offensive club-like weapon.
Any relation between USA and Uncle Sam has not been revealed.
