HISTORY

Venomous Shade, a survivor of the worlds ravaged by the Church of Nothingness and their destructive force known as the Paling, is a member of the Apex League. This coalition, seeking strength in unity, ultimately forged an alliance with Mongul on his formidable battle station, Warworld.

As part of this pact, the League was tasked with confronting one of Mongul's primary adversaries, Sinestro, having been informed of the widespread terror he had inflicted across the cosmos. Their initial confrontation suggested a swift and decisive victory over the former Green Lantern. While guarding the captured Sinestro, Venomous Shade engaged in conversation with him. Despite their shared enemy in the Paling, Venomous Shade remained bound by their allegiance to Mongul.

However, the tide of battle soon turned decisively in Sinestro's favor, revealing his meticulously crafted strategy. Unleashing the full might of the Sinestro Corps, Mongul was ultimately overwhelmed and bound. In a calculated move, Sinestro gathered the yellow power rings of his fallen soldiers, using them to encircle Mongul and cast his defeated foe into the void, creating a potent beacon of fear designed to attract the Paling. With Mongul subdued, Sinestro released the Apex League, leaving them with their grim mission of tracking Mongul and engaging the Paling once they were drawn out.
