OVERVIEW

The planet Venus is 0.72 AU from the sun, with a sidereal revolution of 225 days and a rotation period ("day") of 243 days. Its atmosphere produces a runaway greenhouse effect, making Venus the hottest planet in the Solar system. The planet is named for the Roman godess of love, Venus.

HISTORY

Venus, the second planet from the Sun in our Solar System is one of the least likely planets to support life, yet some life forms have been known to live on Venus, including a blue skinned humanoid race. As of this writing, it is not known if these lifeforms were indigenous or had temporarily colonized the planet.

The planet is the native home of the Venusian "mind-worms" of which the creature called Mister Mind is the most famous. The small but notorious conqueror has repeatedly battled the Marvel Family.

Apparently, Venus will be colonized by various races from time to time in the future, races able to withstand the heat and poisonous gases of the planet's surface.

In the 22nd century, an allegedly Venutian pink-fleshed scientist named Jero became a friend and an ally of the heroic Chris KL-99. Jero seemed to be of aquatic origin.

In the 30th / 31st Century, humans were known to be living on Venus.

By the 853rd Century the planet Venus will have been long destroyed and recreated. Venus was home to Wonder Woman's Amazon race that had settled the hostile environment in the 800th Century.
