OVERVIEW

Son of Perpetua and brother of the Monitor and Anti-Monitor, the World Forger formerly resided in the Dark Multiverse, where he created new worlds in the World Forge. He was surpassed by his pet dragon Barbatos who killed him and took over the World Forge. The World Forger re-formed and took up residence in the Sixth Dimension.

HISTORY

Alpheus, the World Forger is the first son of Perpetua. He was brought into existence in the Sixth Dimension 20 billion years ago to oversee the World Forge in the newly created Dark Multiverse, and to create new worlds from the hopes and fears of all living beings so that they could rise into the Orrery of Worlds.

Five billion years later he created the great dragon known as Barbatos to destroy the twisted and unstable worlds, so that their energies could return to the Forge to be turned into new more stable creations.

Two hundred thousand years after that his brother Mar Novu, the Monitor gathered him and their third brother Mobius, the Anti-Monitor in the Promethean Galaxy. The Monitor had learned that their mother had fulfilled her function when creating the Multiverse and was planning on fighting the Judges of the Source to stay alive. Fearing for their own fates he had created a a cosmic tuning fork to broadcast a signal to contact the Judges. Both their mother and the Judges heard the call. Perpetua attacked her sons, accusing them of treachery, but she was herself stopped by an envoy of the Judges who created a Source Wall that closed of the Multiverse from the greater Omniverse and trapped Perpetua within.

Alpheus would return to the World Forge and continue his work and would not be heard from again for billions of years.

At some point in recent history Alpheus's pet dragon Barbatos killed off its master and took over the World Forge, darkening it and letting worlds that should have been dissolved live on.

Barbatos would eventually gain access to the Prime Universe but was stopped by the combined forces of the heroes of Earth during the event known as Dark Nights: Metal. However, in beating Barbatos they also broke the Source Wall.

Rather than dying Alpheus had been reborn in the Sixth Dimension, where he would come into contact with the Justice League.

The World Forger has the ability to hammer out new worlds from the hopes and fears of all living beings. These worlds will mature in the Dark Multiverse and if they turn out to be stable enough they will enter the Orrery of Worlds.
