OVERVIEW
The World Serpent, also known as the Midgard Serpent, was in Norse mythology a gigantic dragon that encircled the world.
HISTORY
The World Serpent Jörmundgandr (="the mighty rod"), also known as the Midgard Serpent, was in Norse mythology a gigantic dragon that encircled the world. He was the son of Loki (god of mischief and evil) and the giantess Angerboda. His sister was Hel (goddess of death) and his brother Fenris (the wolf). The World Serpent was destined to be the eternal enemy of Thor, and according to prophecy, they will be the death of one another during the final battle of Ragnarök. Until then, the World Serpent has chosen to go into hiding along with other supernatural beings who lived in fear of Lucifer's ambitions. The World Serpent took on a human form, and as Walter Bagley, he now works as a waiter at Pandrashandraka's Italian Deli.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
The full extent of the World Serpent’s powers are unknown. In his serpent form, he is said to encircle the world, which would make him at least 6,378.1 km long. His poison will according to prophecy one day be potent enough to kill Thor, god of thunder.
