HISTORY

Xenon was discovered by an Earth astronomer and was soon visited by Superman. The Man of Steel found a world remarkably similar to his native Krypton, in physical, cultural and technological aspects. In fact, one of Xenon's prominent families resembled the House of El though no explanation was given for this remarkable coincidence.

According to Xenonian legend, their world of Xenon was originally a moon of the doomed planet Krypton, spinning off into the void long before Krypton's destruction. The veracity of this claim has not been confirmed. Xenon was larger than Earth, though smaller than Krypton, a Xenonian on Earth exhibited powers similar to those of a Kryptonian, including flight, strength, invulnerability and x-ray vision, though at a reduced scale. The world of Xenon featured mountains and oceans, the animal life seen resembled Earth's dinosaurs in physical appearance, though very little plant life has been seen.

Like Krypton, Xenon developed tectonic instability, with volcanoes and geysers threatening life and precluding the world's imminent destruction. Xenon had a volatile uranium core which threatened to tear the world asunder but for the intervention of Superman. Using kryptonite placed near the planet's core, the volatile reaction subsided, making Xenon safe once more. An unfortunate ide-effect, this solution poisoned the world for Superman as the resulting kryptonite radiation meant he could never again visit "Krypton's Twin."
