HISTORY

Zu Sur was a "klatch mate" of the late Green Lantern Abin Sur of Ungara. Zu telepathically Lantern Hal Jordan moments before crash-landing. Apparently suffering confusion from the crash, he could not remember why he had come to Earth. Worse, Zu Sur had crashed in the middle of a war zone.

The damaged starship and Green Lantern came under attack from three soldiers. Sometime during the melee Zu Sur was mortally wounded. He remembered his mission was "to find a race of sentient beings who have evolved past savagery and deliver a message to it" though what the message was he could not recall.
