HISTORY
In a prior universe, the Blue Lightsmiths of Faith were a prominent faction within a spectrum of fellow Lightsmiths. For eons, they harmoniously utilized their immense powers, derived from faith and existence itself, in concert with the other Lightsmiths. They traversed the galaxies, diligently spreading their teachings.
However, one astute scientist dared to question the unrestrained usage of this cosmic light. He implored the wielders to consider that their vast resources might, in fact, be finite. The Lightsmiths, steeped in their power, refused to listen. Instead, they ridiculed the scientist, cruelly naming him Relic because he wished to return civilization to a time before the light was so thoroughly harnessed.
Regrettably, the day came when it all catastrophically ended. On their homeworld of Axylund, the Blue Lightsmiths' power converter grew dark — an event they named The Dimming. This became a terrifying prelude to the War of the Dwindling Light, as the once harmonious factions savagely turned upon each other in a desperate struggle for what little energy remained.[1]
Even amidst the fading glory of the Lightsmiths' universe, others sought to exploit their unique powers. These were the Light Pirates, who ruthlessly captured Lightsmiths, including members of the Blue Lightsmiths of Faith, for experimentation and exploitation. Stripped of their staves, the Lightsmiths' existence might have ended then and there, but for the unexpected intervention of members of the Green Lantern Corps, wielders of the green light from a different universe.[2]
Despite helping the captured Lightsmiths to escape, the freed Lightsmiths would regroup and attack the Lanterns in unison, seeking to claim the living planet Mogo for themselves. [3]

They were repelled by the Lanterns and Mogo himself.[4]
Ultimately, each and every Lightsmith was extinguished, culminating in the complete collapse of their universe, with Relic as the sole, tragic survivor.[5]
POWERS
The Blue Lightsmiths of Faith access their powers through the use of staves. They were able to use this power to heal.
