HISTORY
Conrad Carapax was a long time rival of archaeologist Dan Garrett. When Garrett died onPago Island, at the hands of Jarvis Kord's Robot, Carapax followed. After months of searching, he discovered Jarvis Kord's laboratory and after touching an experimental wire, transferred his brain into Jarvis Kord's robot.
When Chicago Police Lieutenant Maxwell Fisher led a search party in search of Dan Garrett's body, Carapax attacked and killed everyone except Fisher. The new Blue Beetle showed up and saved Fisher by dropping Conrad, now calling himself 'Carapax the Indestructible Man', into the Atlantic Ocean. His heavy composition carried him to the bottom of the sea, where he walked for many months until he entered the St. Lawrence Seaway, and came across the Beetle's Nest, embedded in the side of Lake Michigan. After his foe had destroying the Beetle's Nest and KORD headquarters, Blue Beetle crashed the BUG into Carapax and detonated it, destroying him.
Carapax later resurfaced, when the demon Neron offered several villains powers in exchange for their souls. He refused and hasn't been seen since.
