HISTORY
The children who would later in their lives become the criminal gang known as, well, the Gang, grew up together in poverty on the South Side of Chicago. Determined to reach the life of wealth they had only dreamed of, each of them developed his or her special talents to embark a criminal career. Vowing never to get captured, they masked themselves, dressed in colorful garbs, and used as their codenames the nicknames other kids had given them in their past - "Brains", "Bulldozer", "Kong", and "Ms. Mesmer".
The Gang made their debut taking on missions from the criminal organization known as the Council (III). Time and again, they were defeated by superheroes. and most members ended up in prison. The female leader called Brains transferred her conscience into another of the Council's creation - the robotic menace called Matrix-Prime. When Matrix-Prime was seemingly destroyed, Brains was presumed dead as well. Bulldozer briefly reappeared during the Crisis, but no Gang members were seen for years after that.
Recently, Kong and Bulldozer appeared working for Brains (still inhabiting the body of Matrix-Prime). When the forgotten former superhero Triumph attempted to sell some stolen artifacts from the JLA trophy room, the two brutish Gang members were present as bodyguards. On the orders of their boss, they assaulted Triumph. Shortly thereafter, the three of them were brutally killed by Lkz, the djinn from the 5th dimension that Triumph commanded at the time. In the ruins of their office, only their skeletons remained.
Some time later, Ms. Mesmer appeared as part of Circe's army of female super-villains. She has not been seen since their defeat.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Brains was the Gang's leader, a female with apparently no super-powers, but a sharp intellect and expertise of criminal strategy. While in the computer body of Matrix-Prime, Brains was extremely powerful.
Bulldozer and Kong were both superhumanly strong. While Bulldozer specialized in plowing into his opponents, Kong excelled at lifting heavy objects, like cars and buses, throwing them at his targets. Kong also wore a bullet-proof costume.
Ms. Mesmer is a master hypnotist, who enhances her abilities using the light-casting disk worn on her chest.
