HISTORY
- Matrix-Prime was created by scientists working for the Council. He was made out of super-strong metal and outfitted with vocal equipment and rockets for legs. Its primary purpose was to steal valuable artifacts to benefit its creators, and was escorted by smaller weapon-filled robots. Supergirl stopped Matrix-Prime from robbing a bank, but was unable to destroy it with her blows. After defeating the small, dispensable robots, Supergirl tracked Prime back to the Council's base, under Lake Michigan. Brains, the leader of the super-powered Gang, used her mental abilities to take over Matrix-Prime and attack Supergirl. Brains lost control and was arrested. The Council, however escaped and rebuilt Matrix-Prime, this time with its own weapon systems. The mindless robot was sent to kill Barry Metzner, who was writing a damaging book about the Council. Supergirl burst onto the scene, and defeated Matrix-Prime, this time for good.
- [Note: This text refers to a pre-Crisis character. While the Daring New Adventures of Supergirl series is no longer in continuity but as Matrix-Prime is inhabited by the mind of Gang member Brains in JLA #28, the events shown in that series have taken place in some form and as with other Supergirl adventures they are probably credited to Power Girl in current continuity.
