HISTORY
Responding to the overly heavy concentration of super-heroes in the United States and USSR, the mysterious Dr. Mist created the Global Guardians, a team of super-heroes with representatives from many nations, which for some time worked in harmony with the United Nations. The group fell out of favour with the creation of Justice League International and was manipulated by the Queen Bee, corrupt ruler of the nation of Bialya. Freed from her influence, the team continued to battle injustice until torn apart at the hands of an ancient enemy of Dr. Mist. A new team rose from the ashes of the old, though little has been seen of it, and its place in the world may well have been taken over by the Ultramarines.
The current team consists of established Guardians Olympian (of Greece), Owlwoman (of America), Rising Sun (of Japan) and Seraph (of Israel) plus new recruits Cascade, Centrix, Chrysalis and Tundra.
Previous members of the group include Green Flame of Brazil (now known as Fire), two Ice Maidens from Norway (one of whom became known as Ice) and Tasmanian Devil of Australia, all of whom became members of Justice League International. Bushmaster of Venezuela, Thunderlord of China and Wild Huntsman of Germany were killed in the Guardians' climactic battle; Little Mermaid (of Denmark) and the first Jack O'Lantern (of the Republic of Ireland) had died in combat previously to this. The other survivors of the Global Guardians are Impala (from South Africa) who may since have died at 'the House', the British heroine Godiva and New Zealand's Tuatara, who all lost their powers when their team-mates lost their lives.
